Two minor brothers killed as bike, dumper collide head-on in Balasore

Balasore/Bhubaneswar , 13/12/2020 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhishek Mohanty )-  Two minor brothers were killed as the bike on which they were travelling collided head-on with a dumper truck on State Highway-57 near Satasulia Chhak under Kamarda police limits in Balasore district on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Kishore Das (16) and Swadhin Das (11) of Banida area under Jaleswar police limits in the district.

They were returning home on the motorcycle after buying a gift for a wedding ceremony when the two-wheeler collided head-on with a dumper.

The duo sustained critical injuries and were rushed to a hospital by locals. However, the doctor declared them dead at the hospital.

Irked over the incident, locals staged a road blockade by burning tyres near the accident spot demanding compensation for the family of the deceased. They also demanded for construction of a speed breaker at the spot.

The driver of the truck fled after the mishap.
