ASSETS WORTH CRORES INCLUDING 3 MULTI STOREYED BUILDINGS AT KATAKA, BHUBANESWAR& PURI, 3 HIGH VALUE PLOTS, 1 FARMHOUSE, GOLD 747 GMS, 2 FOUR WHEELERS,ETC UNEARTHED SO FAR IN HOUSE SEARCH OF TAPAN SETHI, ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, R&B SUB-DIVISION, BADACHANA, JAJPUR.

 

Cuttack, 22/10/2026 ( Odisha Samachar )- In ongoing searches at 7locations of TapanSethi, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE), R&B Sub-Division, Badachana, Jajpur under SE, R&B Division, Charbatia, Choudwar, Kataka, the following movable and immovable assets worth Crores have been unearthed so far, in the name of Sri Sethiand his family members;

• One triple storeyed building with area approx 2000 Sqft. located at Plot No.F/779, Sector-7, CDA, .
• Another triple storeyed building with area approx 3600 sqft. located at SidhaMahavir, Puri.
• One double storeyed building with area approx 2200 Sqft. located at Kantabada, Bhubaneswar.
• One farmhouse spread over 1 acre at Kantapada near Kataka.
• 3 high valuable plots, including 2 at Bhubaneswar and 1 at CDA, Kataka.

The measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings/farmhouse/ plots are being carried out by Vigilance Technical Wing.

• Gold jewellery approx747gms.
• Bank, Insurance deposits & other investments are under verification.
• 2 four wheelers (Grand Vitara& Hyundai Santro) &4 two wheelers.
• Cash & household articles worth around Rs.11.60 lakhs.

TapanSethi, AEE, R&B Sub-Division, Badachana, Jajpuris being examined to ascertain the source of the assets. Further searches are continuing.

On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, simultaneous house searches were conducted on the properties of TapanSethi, Assistant Executive Engineer, today i.e. 22.10.2026 at following 7 places in Kataka, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Badachana (Jajpur);

1. Triple storeyed building at, Plot No.F/779 at Sector-7, CDA, Kataka.
2. Triple storeyed building at SidhaMahavir, Puri.
3. Farm house with a Simplex at Kantapada, Dist–Kataka.
4. Double storeyed house at his native place at Jhinkiria, PS-Konark, Dist- Puri.
5. House of his in-law at Bantunianear Shiva Mandir, 42 mouza, Kataka.
6. Double storeyed building at Kantabada, Bhubaneswar.
7. Office chamber of Sri Sethi at R & B Sub Division, Badachana, Jajpur under SE, R & B Division, Charbatia, Choudwar, Kataka.

7teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 3 Addl. SPs, 6 DSPs, 3 Inspectors, and other supporting staff conducted the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Kataka.

TapanSethi (DOB:-24.08.1972) entered into Govt. service on 06.08.1997 as Junior Engineer (Civil) under the EIC (Civil), Odisha with initial salary of Rs.5,000/- per month. He served as JE in the NH Division, Dhenkanal, from 07.08.1997 to 12.12.2008. During this period, he was posted in NH Section-II, Boinda, Angul under NH Division, Dhenkanal from 23.07.2003 to 12.12.2008. Subsequently, he was posted as JE in the R&B Division, Jagatsinghpur from 15.12.2008 to 19.04.2018, including service in Kantapada R&B Section under Jagatsinghpur R&B Division. On promotion, he served as Asst. Engineer in Kendrapada R&B Division from 20.04.2018 to 14.10.2022. Again, on promotion, he was posted as AEE (Civil) in R&B Division-III, Bhubaneswar from 15.10.2022 to 20.10.2023. On transfer, he joined as AEE, R&B Sub-Division, Badachana on 25.10.2023 under SE, R&B Division, Charbatia, ChoudwarDist-Kataka. Since then, he has been continuing as such to date.
