Dilip Tirki was elected president unopposed after two other aspirants who filed nominations for the post withdrew their nominations. The president was elected unopposed after two other aspirants who filed their nomination papers withdrew their nomination papers on Friday, the last day for withdrawal of nominations. Former India hockey captain Dilip Tirkee on Sunday shared a photo on Twitter about submitting his nomination papers for the post of Hockey India president. He has played 412 matches in his international career spanning 15 years. He is the first Odia to hold the post of Hockey India president.
