The vibrant marketplace remains a hub of activity, with visitors exploring an extensive range of SHG products, from intricate handicrafts and organic produce to locally sourced spices and exquisite handloom collections. The food court continues to be the favourite zone drawing visitors attention to savor authentic millet-based dishes and Odisha’s traditional delicacies.
A special highlight of Day 8 was the handloom showcase, celebrating Odisha’s rich textile heritage. Stunning displays of Sambalpuri, Ikkat, Pata Saree, and Tasar Silk adorned the stalls, mesmerizing shoppers with their intricate weaves and craftsmanship, proving that Odisha’s timeless crafts continue to evolve with changing trends.
Adding to the enthusiasm of the day, Shri Golak Mohapatra, Vice President of BJP, Odisha, visited the mela, engaging with SHG entrepreneurs and appreciating their efforts in promoting Odisha’s traditional crafts.
As the evening unfolded, the cultural stage came alive with a thrilling performance of Ranapa Dance, a traditional folk dance where performers displayed breathtaking acrobatics while balancing on stilts, leaving the audience in awe. The electrifying act was followed by a melody night featuring Satyajit Pradhan, Bhagyashree, and their team, who captivated the crowd with their soulful renditions and high-energy musical performances.
With just one day left for the closure of this incredible nine-day journey, the cumulative sales figures have soared past ₹ 3 crore, while the total footfall have exceeded 2.5 lakh visitors, making Subhadra Shakti Mela one of the most successful Melas yet. As we head into the final day tomorrow, a warm invitation is extended to all to come, explore, and celebrate the success of Odisha’s women entrepreneurs.
