Cuttack,29/9/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )-Today i.e. on 29.09.2022, Sri Laxmi Narayan Swain, Forest Guard, Patnagarh Forest Range, Dist-Bolangir has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.16,000/- (Rupees Sixteen Thousand) from a Complainant (Labour representative) for clearing his pending bills and preparing his Muster Roll as well as his fellow labourers.

Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 29.09.2022, wherein the accused Sri Laxmi Narayan Swain, Forest Guard was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance at Forest staff Barrack, Range Office, Patnagarh while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.16,000/- (Rupees Sixteen Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Swain and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash as well as Shirt pocket wash of Sri Swain gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the Govt. residential quarter of Sri Swain at Patnagrh, house at native village Bharsuja, Loisingha, 8Dist-Bolangir and office of the Range Officer, Patnagarh Forest Range.

In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.34 dated 28.09.2022 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
