Cuttack,30/6/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 30.06.2022, Sri Pravat Kumar Rout, Assistant Engineer, Panhayat Samiti, Dampada, Dist-Cuttack was arrested by Odisha Vigilance and forwarded to the Court of Spl. Judge Vigilance, Cuttack for possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 263% of known sources of income, which he could not account for satisfactorily. In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. Case No.39 dt.30.06.2022 was registered against Sri Pravat Kumar Rout, Assistant Engineer and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Pravat Kumar Rout, Assistant Engineer, Panhayat Samiti, Dampada, Dist-Cuttack, simultaneous house searches were conducted on 29.06.2022 at 4 places in Cuttack & Kendrapara districts by 4 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 4 DSsP, 10 Inspectors and other staff conducted the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Pravat Kumar Rout, Assistant Engineer, Panhayat Samiti, Dampada, Dist-Cuttack were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which is 263% higher than his known sources of income.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
