Cuttack,24/6/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- In one more Vigilance Operation today, Sri Judhistir Harijan @ Kumar, Head Clerk, office of Block Education Officer(BEO), Kalampur, Dist-Kalahandi has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.13,000/- (Rupees Thirteen Thousand) from a complainant (Retired Headmaster) in order to process and help release retirement benefits in his favour.

Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 24.06.2022  wherein the accused Sri Judhistir Harijan @ Kumar, Head Clerk was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance inside the office premises of BEO, Kalampur while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.13,000/- (Rupees Thirteen Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Harijan @ Kumar and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash as well as pant pocket wash of Sri Harijan @ Kumar gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential house of Sri Harijan @ Kumar at Mathura, Ps-Junagarh, Dist-Kalahandi and his office room at Kalampur. Sri Harijan @ Kumar, Head Clerk has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S. Case No.18 dated 23.06.2022 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
