Cuttack,23/6/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 23.06.2022, Sri Bikash Sana, Accountant-cum-Programmer, office of District Education Officer, Nabarangpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) from a complainant (Contractor) in order to process transport bills of MDM Rice to be distributed at the school points and to facilitate release of security deposit in his favour.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 23.06.2022 wherein the accused Sri Bikash Sana, Accountant-cum-Programmer was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance at District Education Office, Nabarangpur while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.1,00,000/- (Rupees One Lakh) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Sana and seized in presence of witnesses. Left hand wash of Sri Sana gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the rented residential house of Sri Sana at Sadasiba Lane, Nabarangpur, office room at Nabarangpur and his house at native village Umarkote. Accused Sri Bikash Sana, Accountant-cum-Programmer has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S. Case No.17 dated 23.06.2022 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
