Cuttack,03/03/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- On the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri K. Nageswar Senapati, Junior Engineer(J.E), Rayagada Block, Dist. Gajapati, his 1) residential double-storey building at Paralakhemundi, 2) house at native village Kulada, PS-Dharakote, Dist. Ganjam, 3) government quarter at Rayagada Block office premises, Dist. Gajapati, 4) fly ash brick manufacturing unit at village Minigam, Dist. Gajapati, 5) house of relative at Berhampur, and 6) office room at Rayagada Block office, Dist. Gajapati were searched simultaneously on 2.3.2021 by the officers of Berhampur Vigilance, Division on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.
In course of search and inventory, Sri K. Nageswar Senapati, JE has been found in possession of assets worth Rs.2,13,49,723/- (Rupees Two Crore Thirteen Lakhs Forty-nine Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty-three) including one double-storey building, nine numbers of plots, one fly ash brick manufacturing unit, one four wheeler, two numbers of two wheelers, deposits in different Banks, gold & silver ornaments, cash over 60 Lakhs and household articles.
After search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Senapati were calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs.1,88,96,583/- (Rupees One Crore Eighty-eight Lakhs Ninety-six Thousand Five Hundred Eighty-three).
As Sri K. Nageswar Senapati, JE was found in possession of such disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No.3 dated 3.3.2021 was registered against Sri Senapati U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 P.C (Amendment) Act, 2018 for detailed investigation. In course of investigation, today i.e. on 3.3.2021, Sri Senapati has been arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
