Jagatsinghpur,24/08/2026 ( Odisha Samachar)- A special Handmade Eco-Friendly Rakhi Stall was inaugurated today in front of the Municipality Office, Jagatsinghpur, to promote locally made traditional and eco-friendly Rakhi products prepared by rural producer groups.
The stall was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Collector & DM, Jagatsinghpur, Sri J. Sonal, IAS, in the presence of CDO-cum-EO, Zilla Parishad, Sri Akshay Pilley, IAS. During the inauguration, the Hon’ble Collector appreciated the initiative and encouraged the producer group members to promote handmade and environmentally friendly products.
A total of 7 Producer Group (PG) members are participating in the stall and selling a variety of handmade Rakhis, including Jute Rakhi, Cane & Bamboo Rakhi, Palm Leaf Rakhi, Golden Grass Rakhi and Terracotta Rakhi. The initiative provides an opportunity for rural women producers to showcase and market their traditional handmade products while generating income and promoting sustainable alternatives.
The Rakhi Stall will remain open from 24th to 28th August 2026 in front of the Municipality Office, Jagatsinghpur. The initiative aims to encourage the use of handmade, locally produced and eco-friendly Rakhis during the festive season.
The Hon’ble Chairperson, Jagatsinghpur Municipality, Smt. Archana Singh, also visited the stall, purchased Rakhis, interacted with the participating members and appreciated the initiative of ORMAS and the quality of the handmade products.
