Bhubaneswar, 20/6/2026 ( Odisha Samachar )-The KIIT & KISS express their profound grief on the passing of Shri Rajesh Hasdak, National Archery Coach, mentor, and Odisha’s first international archer. A distinguished sportsperson, he represented India at the 1998 Asian Games in Bangkok and secured an impressive 6th place in the Individual Olympic Round at the 2002 Asian Grand Prix in China. As an accomplished archer, he won numerous medals at the National Championships, National Games, and All India Inter-University competitions before dedicating his life to coaching.
Since joining KISS in 2009, Shri Hasdak has completed his NIS coaching course from KIIT University under Sports Authority of India ( SAI) in the year 2018 and played a pivotal role in nurturing several national-level archers who brought laurels to KIIT and KISS at prestigious competitions across the country, His unwavering commitment, humility, and passion for the sport earned him immense respect from athletes, colleagues, and the sporting fraternity.
Hon’ble Founder of KIIT, KISS and KIMS, Prof.(Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, expressed his profound grief over the untimely demise of Shri Rajesh Hasdak. Conveying his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, he prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace and wished the family strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss.
