Koraput,26/4/2023 ( Odisha Samachar )- The Department of Business Management, Central University of Odisha, is organizing a two[1]day workshop on “Indian Financial Market: Instruments and Services” on 25th and 26th April 2023 in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Market (NISM), Mumbai. Prof Chakradhar Tripathi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Central University of Odisha, Koraput, inaugurated the workshop. In his inaugural address, Prof Tripathi lauded the Department for organizing the workshop in collaboration with NISM—a prestigious institute in the field of financial markets. He opined that such a workshop on the Indian financial market is very relevant in present-day India as it is fast marching towards the cherished goal of a 5 trillion USD-strong economy as envisioned by our beloved Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi. He called upon the budding managers to take up the challenges of building a vibrant economy. Discussing his vision for the University, Prof Tripathi said that an integrated MBA may be a reality in the near future for the Department of Business Management. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor also unveiled the placement brochure of the Department.
Earlier, Dr Prasant Kumar Behera, HoD, Business Management, delivered the welcome address and highlighted the salient features of the Department and student achievements. He also proposed conducting an international conference in the area of business management in July-August 2023. He spelled out the objectives of the two-day-long workshop and the expected outcomes for the participants. Prof Sudhendu Mandal, Advisor (Academic and Administration), Central University of Odisha, outlined the importance of the workshop in the financial market and called upon the students to play a pivotal role in building a vibrant economy. Mr. C Vijaya Rao, the Resource Person from NISM, spelled out the contents of the different sessions and thanked the Department for allowing conducting the workshop.
Mr. Retesh Das and Ms. Jyoshna Patnaik, 4th Semester students, co-hosted the programme. In the end, Dr. Subash Chandra Pattnaik, Coordinator, MBA (Regular & Executive) Programmes, proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of the Department.
