FOREST RAID BY ODISHA VIGILANCE

WILD BOAR MEAT AND VALUABLE TIMBER WORTH OVER RS.1.10 LAKH SEIZED.

 Cuttack,13/10/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 13.10.2022, on receipt of reliable information, a joint forest raid was conducted by the Forest Wing of Odisha Vigilance in house premises of Sri Babindra Munda of village-Pubal, PS-Sukinda, Dist-Jajpur. During the raid, it was found that one Sri Munda had killed a wild pig/wild boar by way of “Trap” for selling the meat of the said wild animal. Different parts like stomach, intestine and head person of the wild boar along with instruments like axe, trap set and weighing machine etc., were seized. Sri Babindra Munda was arrested and forwarded to the Court of JMFC, Sukinda, Jajpur for violation of Section 9 of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972, which is punishable U/s 51 of the said Act as wild pig/wild boar is a schedule wild animal in Sch.III (Sl. No.19) of Wild Life (Protection) Act, 1972. In this connection, one Forest Case has been registered vide OR No.132SK of 2022-23 in Sukinda Range under Cuttack Forest Division.

In another operation today, on receipt of reliable information regarding hording of illegal timbers at Bahali Sahi and Chanakote, PS-Kaliapani, Dist-Jajpur, a joint forest raid was conducted by the Forest Wing of Odisha Vigilance at the 2 places. During the raid, 43.31 Cuft. timber was detected and seized. In this connection, two Forest cases vide UD case No. 7SK and 8SK of 2022-23 have been registered in Sukinda Range under Cuttack Forest Division.

In total, seized valueof timbers and meat of wild boar comes to Rs.1,10,775/- (Rupees One Lakh Ten Thousand Seven Hundred Seventy-five).
