Cuttack,13/10/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )-Today i.e., on 13.10.2022, Sri Gangadhar Sahoo, Junior Clerk, office of BEO, Banspal, Dist-Keonjhar was arrested by Odisha Vigilance and forwarded to the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Keonjhar for possession of disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily. The Hon’ble Court has remanded him to jail custody till 26.10.2022. In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.31 dated 13.10.2022 has been registered against Sri Gangadhar Sahoo, Junior Clerk and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Gangadhar Sahoo, Junior Clerk, office of BEO, Banspal, Dist-Keonjhar, simultaneous house searches were conducted on 12.10.2022 at 5 places in Keonjhar district by 5 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 3 DSPs, 5 Inspectors, 2 ASIs and other staff conducted the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Keonjhar.
During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets were unearthed in the name of Sri Gangadhar Sahoo, Junior Clerk and his family members:
- One triple storeyed building located at 3rd lane, Bhalukipatala, Keonjhar worth Rs.90 Lakhs.
- 1 plot vide No.267/3304 at Mouza Ranki under Sadar Tahasil, Keonjhar.
- Bank& insurance deposits worth over Rs.14.2 Lakh.
- 1 four-wheeler (Maruti Ertiga Suzuki) worth Rs.9 Lakh.
- 2 two-wheelers.
- Cash, gold & household articles worth around Rs.3 Lakh.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Gangadhar Sahoo, Junior Clerk, office of BEO, Banspal, Dist-Keonjhar were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which is 209% of his known sources of income.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
