Bhubaneswar, 21/.08./2021( Odisha Samachar ) : Govt. of India has increased Cooking Gas (14.2Kg.) price by Rs. 25/- on the eve of Jana Ashirwad Yatra which has actually turned into Jana Akrosh Yatra says Samajwadi Party Odisha State Unit President Mr. Rabi Behera participating in a demonstration against cooking gas price hike here at Bhubaneswar today. NDA Govt. which promised ‘Achhedin” to the people of India has failed to control price of essential commodities like rice, dal, edible oil, sugar, petrol, diesel and cooking Gas. While Petrol & Diesel per litre is still above Rs. 100/- throughout the country, the cooking gas price has increased by Rs. 165/- in last 7 months. This soaring fuel price has cascading effect on the daily life of common people. While most of the people, have lost their jobs and struggling for their livelihood. The soaring prices of essential commodities has ruined their family. Hence most of the poor and lower middle class family still remain starved or half-fed. Is it the Achhedin of Modi Govt. promised to the Indians 7 years back ? questions Mr. Behera in this demonstration. The party has urged the Govt. to bring petrol & diesel under GST and roll back the price of cooking gas. The price of essential commodities need to the checked or else Samajwadi Party will go for mass agitation. Inspite of heavy rain and bad weather hundreds of party workers with cooking gas cylinders and placards in their hands with the slogan – reduce excise duty on petrol & diesel, check prices of essential commodities, bring petrol & diesel under GST, roll back cooking gas price hike etc. demonstrated before Raj Bhawan, Odisha . Among others party general secretary Mr. Sudarshan Pradhan, senior leader Bijay Behera, Sanjay Nayak, women leaders Sayana Bibi, Rita Pattnaik & Sudharani Sahoo also spoke in the demonstration. Samajwadi Party will go for massive people’s movement unless price rise is checked and social security to those who lost their livelihood is given by the Govt. says the party press release.
