Cuttack, 29/01/2021 ( Odisha Samachar)- Today i.e. on 29.1.2021, Dr. Sradhakar Gartia, Medical Officer (MO), In-charge-cum-Superintendent, Community Health Centre (CHC), Hemgiri, Dist. Sundargarh has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Rourkela Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from complainant Smt. Kalpana Patel, Ex-Multi Purpose Health Worker (Female), Mangaspur CHC, Dist. Sundargarh in order to regularize her leave period.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 29.1.2021. Accused Dr. Sradhakar Gartia, MO was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Rourkela Division while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from complainant Smt. Patel. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Dr. Gartia and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Dr. Gartia gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Residential government quarter and office room of Dr. Gartia at Sundargarh and residential building at Sambalpur are being searched. Dr. Sradhakar Gartia, MO has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance P.S. case No.3 dt.28.1.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
