Cuttack,28/01/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- On the allegation of acquisition of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Subhendu Kumar Pradhan, Junior Engineer, office of Block Development Officer (BDO), Bhubaneswar, his (1) triple-storied building at Dumduma, Bhubaneswar, (2) house at native village Srichandanpur, PS-Kakatpur, Dist. Puri, and (3) office room at Bhubaneswar were searched simultaneously on 27.1.2021 by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

In course of search and inventory, Sri Subhendu Kumar Pradhan, J.E. has been found in possession of assets worth Rs.1,21,27,413/- (Rupees One Crore Twenty-one Lakhs Twenty-seven Thousand Four Hundred Thirteen) including one triple-storied building, one flat, one single-storied building, one apartment, eleven numbers of plots, one four wheeler, two numbers of two wheelers, deposits in different Banks, gold and silver ornaments, cash and household articles.

 After search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Pradhan were calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs.1,76,89,173/- (Rupees One Crore Seventy-six Lakhs Eighty-nine Thousand One Hundred Seventy-three).

As Sri Subhendu Kumar Pradhan, J.E. was found in possession of such disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No.6 dt.28.1.2021 was registered against Sri Pradhan U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 P.C Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 for detailed investigation. In course of investigation, today i.e. on 28.1.2021, Sri Pradhan has been arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar. The Hon’ble Court has remanded him to jail custody till 10.2.2021.

Investigation of the case is in progress.
