Cuttack,7/7/2025 ( Odisha Samachar)-Today i.e. on 07.07.2025, Dr. Siba Prasad  Kujang, Dist-Jagatsinghpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and taking undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from a complainant for issuance of favourable Post Mortem report of his deceased wife without delay. The deceased had reportedly died due to food poisoning.

As per the information given by the State Vigilance Directorate , Cuttack Following the death, Dr. Siba Prasad Sethi had conducted autopsy on the body of the deceased woman. The complt, being the husband of the deceased, was requesting the accused Doctor to furnish the PM report early for insurance purpose. However, as the death of deceased was within 7 years of marraige, the MO, Dr. Siba Prasad Sethi, demanded Rs.10,000/- bribe for furnishing a favourable Post Mortem report early.

Finding no other means, the complainant alleged before Vigilance authorities about the matter. Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 07.07.2025, wherein the accused Dr. Siba Prasad Sethi, Medical Officer was nabbed by the team of Odisha Vigilance inside the clinic of Dr. Sethi at Cuttack for demanding and taking undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from the complainant through his receptionist. The entire bribe money was recovered and seized in presence of witnesses. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the rented residential house of Dr. Sethi at Maitrivihar, Cuttack, Flat at Mahavir apartment, Cuttack, paternal house at Erasama, Jagatsinghpur, CHC Kujang office chamber, Dist-Jagatsinghpur and his chamber at private clinic at Mahanadi Vihar, Cuttack. Accused Dr. Siba Prasad Sethi, Medical Officer of Kujang CHC has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.19/2025 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
