Bhubaneswar, 21/05/2025 ( Odisha Samachar / Rajat Mohapatra )-A review meeting of Social Security & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department was held under the chairmanship of Hon’ble Minister, S&ME, ST & SCDM & BCW and SSEPD Sri Nityananda Gond, on 21.05.2025 at 11.00 AM in the Conference Hall of SIDR, Capital Hospital Campus, Unit-6, Bhubaneswar.
Director, SSEPD,Smt Niyati Pattnaik, Financial Advisor-cum-Special Secretary Jayashree Tripathy, Additional Secretary Smt. Sonia Behera, Sri Bhaskar Raito and other Senior Officers/ Staff of SSEPD Department were present in the review meeting.
Hon’ble Minister reviewed different schemes/ programs of the Department, status of sanction of social security pension, pending works/projects, legal matter etc. in details and instructed concerned Officials to make periodic scrutiny of the programs/schemes to ensure their timely disposal.
He also advised to take necessary steps to dissolve the administrative constraints and policy issues so that the deserving beneficiaries can easily avail themselves the benefits of different welfare schemes and programs. Hon’ble Minister was happy to announce that additional 83,135 beneficiaries have been sanctioned social security pension at the enhanced rate of Rs. 3,500/- per month and the total figure reached about 5 lakhs in the State.
He also advised the Department officers to make sure that the infrastructure of the projects are completed within the specified timeline and conduct regular visit to the institutions/ special schools and Old Age Homes running in the State. Reviewing on the status of budget provision, Hon’ble Minister focussed on 100% utilization of the budget of the Department and advised to ensure timely implementation of the welfare programs and activities for the elderly, PwDs and other target groups. In the end, Director, SSEPD gave vote of thanks to the chair and other participants.
