Tripartite MoU signed

Bhubaneswar.04/03/2025( Odisha Samachar / Rajat Mohapatra )- A Tripartite Memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed by the Department of Water Resources, Odisha with the Institute of Rural Management Anand (IRMA), Gujarat and Director of Fisheries, Odishain the presence of Anu Garg, IAS, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary to Govt., DoWRin the RajibBhawan today on 4thMarch 2025.

SadiqueAlam, Director of Fisheries, Odisha, Rashmi Ranjana Nayak, Project Director, OIIPCRA and  DrUmakant Dash, Director, IRMA, Gujarat were present on the occasion besides other senior officers of the Departments of Water Resources; Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment and Fisheries & Animal Resources Development and World Fish.

The MoU was signed among Odisha Integrated Irrigation Project for Climate Resilient Agriculture (OIIPCRA), Department of Water Resources, Government of Odisha, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department, Government of Odisha, and Institute of Rural Management Anand, Gujarat on “Capacity-building on the Stake holders on Marketing of Fisheries Products under OIIPCRA.

The collaboration aims to enhance the capacity of Fisheries Officers and Progressive farmers through structured residential training programs focused on fish market development, including Training of Trainers (ToT) for officials and stakeholders. It will help them develop strategies for domestic market consumption, familiarize them with marketing techniques, and improve their understanding of consumer behavior. Additionally, the initiative will build skills in supply chain management, organize exposure visits to successful value chains, and promote interactive learning and collaboration among participants.
