Bhubaneswar, 25/9/2024 ( Odisha Samachar / Rajat Mohapatra )-In the spirit of this year’s World Tourism Day’s theme “Tourism and Peace,” the Cultural Association of the Department of Tourism organized a Blood Donation Camp at Paryatan Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, promoting peace, compassion, and community engagement.

Inaugurating the camp Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister and Minister of Tourism Smt. Prabhati Parida said, “It’s heartening to see the Tourism Department taking this initiative, showcasing humanity alongside hospitality.” Deputy Chief Minister also felicitated first Blood Donors named Dev Lohar, Savya Sachi Panda, Bibhuti Kumar Nayak and Somesh Kumar Sahoo. All other Blood Donors were also commended with Certificate. The event saw enthusiastic participation from department officials, OTDC officials, volunteers, students, and officials of IHM Bhubaneswar, collecting over 75 units of blood in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society, Odisha Branch. Director Tourism, Shri Samarth Verma expressed gratitude to the officials involved, highlighting the Department’s commitment to responsible tourism and community engagement, emphasizing tourism’s positive impact beyond economic growth.
