Bhubaneswar, 17/07/2024(Odisha Samachar/Rajat Mohapatra)-Amarda Road (Rasgovindapur) airstrip will be operationalised soon. SriBibhuti Bhusan Jena, Minister, Commerce and Transport, Steel and Mines hadelaborate discussions today with Dr. Krusha Chandra Mohapatra, Minister, Housingand Urban Development and Public Enterprises regarding the airstrip. Minister SriJena reviewed the progress of work and urged on earliest completion of necessaryformalities. Besides, all round development of Jharsuguda Airport was also discussedin the presence of Sri Tankadhar Tripathy, MLA, Jharsuguda.

Amarda Road airstrip is a former wartime airfield located near Rasgovindpur inMayurbhanj District. Built in the 1940s, it has 11,000 feet concrete runway. Theproposal to renovate the airstrip for future operations under UDAN Scheme will berealized soon and it will be developed as a commercial airport with acquisition ofmore land area and necessary infrastructure, Minister Sri Jena said.
