Cuttack,17/1/2023 ( Odisha Samachar )-On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, simultaneous house searches have been launched on the properties of Sri Narayan Sahoo, Block Development Officer (BDO), Khariar, Dist- Nuapada today i.e. on 17.01.2023 at 6 places in Nuapada, Bolangir & Bargarh districts i.e;

1. Residential house located at the backside of Vatika Hotel, Sadar PS road Bolangir.
2. House at native village Kusmel, PS-Sadar, Dist-Bolangir.
3. House of his relative located at Bidighat under Sadar Block, Dist:-Bolangir.
4. Rented residential house of his son at Mastertikra, Dist-Bargarh.
5. Government quarter located at Khariar, Dist:-Nuapada.
6. Office chamber located at Panchayat Samiti Office, Khariar, Dist-Nuapada.

6 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 3 DSPs, 10 Inspectors, 4 ASIs and other staff are conducting the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir.

During searches so far, the following movable and immovable assets worth Crores have been unearthed in the name of Sri Narayan Sahoo, BDO and his family members;

• One double storeyed building over plot No.83 and Kahta No.236 at the backside of Vatika Hotel, Bolangir town worth approx Rs.88 Lakhs (Picture given below).

 

Vigilance Technical Wing is carrying out detailed measurement of above building and valuation may increase further.

• Land/plots in and around Bolangir as per details below;

2. A piece of land measuring about 2.3 Acres comprising 10 plots vide Plot No.2544, 2547, 2532, 2524, 2689, 2523, 2526, 2522, 2691 and  2702, Khata No.15, Mauza-Kusmel, Bolangir.
3. A piece of land measuring about 6.5 Acres comprising 9 Plots vide Plot No.2543, 2545/3340, 2550, 2546, 2528, 2521, 2502, 2551 and 2520, Khata No.351/336, Mauza-Kusmel, Bolangir.

• 1 plot measuring area Ac 0.92 dec, Plot No.2541, 2552 and 2553, Khata No. 323 Mauza-Kusmel, Bolangir.

1. 1 plot measuring area Ac 0.19 dec, Plot No.2552, Khata No.323 Mauza-Kusmel, Bolangir.

The Registered Sale Deed (RSD) value comes to over Rs.9.23 Lakh. However, the actual value is likely to be much higher. Undervaluation of the plots during registration is suspected. A thorough probe has been initiated in this regard.

• Cash Rs.99 Lakh.
• Bank & Insurance deposits worth over 13.49 Lakhs.
• Gold jewellery 764 Gms and silver ornaments 720 Gms worth over Rs.36
• 1 four wheeler (Hyundai Creta) worth Rs.14.38 Lakhs and 2 two wheelers.
• Household articles worth over 7 Lakh.

Sri Narayan Sahoo, Block Development Officer (BDO), Khariar, Dist- Nuapada is being examined to ascertain the source of the assets. Further searches are continuing. Unearthing of more assets is likely and overall valuation is likely to increase.
