Environmentalist started “ My Chilika  My Responsibility” drive

.Jajpur ,28/11/2022 ( Odisha Samachar /Suresh Kumar Kar):- Asia’s biggest brackish water Chilika lake which is a home for million of migratory birds and a livelihood of 120 fishermen villages in and around the lake is on the verge of destruction with rampant pollution with increasing motorised boats, prawn farming and indiscriminate littering of plastics and other wastes by tourists.

 To celebrate World Heritage Week Nation Wide and do sensitise the citizens of Odisha, Way2 ISR Foundation along with Team Green Parikud conducted a mass awareness drive by planting trees at the Kalijai Temple and Cleaning the premises. 

The program was  well supported by the police staff along with   IIC  Krushna Prasad PS , Forests Officers , local SSG Groups ,  Amita Tarai an Environmental Activist from Green Parikud-Super30GreenOdisha had initiated the drive with the vision and support of President and Trustee of Way2 ISR Foundation Dharmendra Kar &  Himanshu Nayak. 

The very objective of celebrating world heritage week at Kalijai Temple inside Chilika lake is to inspire, motivate and sensitise the tourists not to litter Chilika, keep the vicinities of world famous Kalijai Temple clean and green and adopt individual social responsibility to preserve our historical monuments. It is very much mentioned in our Constitution of India 

Article 51-A (g), says that “It shall be duty of every citizen of India to protect and improve the natural environment including forests, lakes, rivers and wild life and to have compassion for living creatures.” It is every citizen’s responsibility to care, adopt, preserve, maintain and save the environment around them said by Dharmendra Kar , notable environmentalist & a Data Scientist  who belongs to Jajpur district .
