Bhubaneswar, 12/8/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- On the eve of International Youth Day, Dept. of Sociology, Utkal University in collaboration with HelpAge India organized a poster competition on the theme “Let’s Bridge the Gap: We and our Elders” among students all departments of the university. This program envisaged to promote inter-generational bonding among youth and senior citizens through the HUG program (Help Unite Generations) of HelpAge India and prepare the youth to become responsible citizens. Prof. B.K.Behera, HOD, Dept. of Sociology, Assam University, Prof. Navaneeta Rath, HOD, Dept. of Sociology, Utkal Univerity, Ms. Bharati Chakra, State Head, HelpAge India addressed the students on issues of senior citizens and role of youth in this occasion. The winners were awarded with prizes and certificates. Dr. Tanaya Mohanty, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Sociology, Utkal University and Ms. Debasree Brahma, Counselor, HelpAge India facilitated the program.
