Cuttack,7/7/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 07.07.2022, Sri Narayan Pattnaik, Supervisor, Khadi & Village Industries Board, office of District Industries Center (DIC), Puri has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) from a complainant (owner of brass & bell metal processing unit) of Puri district for facilitating release of subsidy amount Rs.2,45,000/- in digital mode in his favour.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 07.07.2022 wherein the accused Sri Narayan Pattnaik, Supervisor was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance inside the office premises while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.15,000/-(Rupees Fifteen Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Pattnaik and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash as well as pant pocket wash of Sri Pattnaik gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential house of Sri Pattnaik at Bhudan Square, Ps-Talabania, Dist-Puri and his office room. Accused Sri Narayan Pattnaik, Supervisor has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No.17 dated 06.07.2022 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
