Cuttack, 10/6/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 10.06.2022, Smt. Manasi Jena, Ex Vigilance Inspector, Sambalpur Vigilance Division, has been dismissed from service by the competent Authority under Article 311(2)(b) of the Constitution of India with immediate effect.

On 13.05.2022, Smt. Manasi Jena was trapped along with her associate (private person) named Sri Mukesh Sahoo by the Internal Vigilance Unit of Odisha Vigilance for demand and acceptance of undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakh) from a Government official for closure of a petition against him.

On 14.05.2022, both the accused persons Smt. Manasi Jena, Inspector and her associate (private person) Sri Mukesh Sahoo were arrested and forwarded to the Court. In this connection, Vigilance Cell P.S. Case No.5 dated 12.05.2022 U/s 7/12 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 was registered against both the accused Smt. Jena and her associate (private person) Sri Sahoo and is under investigation.
