cuttack,10/5/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- On 09.05.2022, a team of Odisha Vigilance had intercepted Sri Laxmidhar Jena, Project Director, Watershed Mission, Nabarangpur (Class-I) near Royal Enfield bike showroom, Majhiguda, Nabarangpur town while he was plying from his office to his rented residential house by office Mahindra Scorpio vehicle bearing registration No.OD02-BZ-1296. During interception, suspected ill-gotten cash of Rs.2,20,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Twenty Thousand) was recovered from the possession of Sri Jena, which he could not account for satisfactorily.
During house search, further cash Rs.4.50 Lakh from his residential house at Tamando, Bhubaneswar and rented residential house at Nabarangpur has been recovered. Over all total cash recovered and seized comes to Rs.6.7 Lakh.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance PS Case No.12 dated 09.05.2022 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against Sri Laxmidhar Jena, Project Director, Watershed Mission, Nabarangpur. Today i.e. on 10.05.2022, Sri Jena was arrested and forwarded to the Court. The Hon’ble Court has remanded him to jail custody till 21.05.2022.
The investigation of the case is in progress.
