Cuttack,11/2/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 11.02.2022, Sri Braja Kumar Nayak, Block Education Officer (BEO), Nuagada Block, Dist.- Gajapati and Sri Dillip Kumar Swain, Accountant-Cum- Support Staff-Cum- Data Entry Operator (Contractual), O/o the BEO, Nuagada Block, Dist.- Gajapati have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand) from a complainant (Teacher) to release his (Teacher’s) 12 months arrear salary.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 11.02.2022 wherein the accused Sri Braja Kumar Nayak, BEO was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in the his office at Nuagada Block, Dist.- Gajapati while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand) from complainant through Sri Dillip Kumar Swain, Accountant-Cum- Support Staff-Cum- Data Entry Operator of the same office. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of both the accused Sri Nayak and Sri Swain and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Swain, Accountant-Cum- Support Staff-Cum- Data Entry Operator as well as wash of office table drawer of Sri Nayak, BEO gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by them. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential house of Sri Nayak, BEO at Paralakhemundi, Dist.- Gajapati and his office chamber at Nuagada Block, Dist.- Gajapati as well as residential house of Sri Swain, Accountant-Cum- Support Staff-Cum- Data Entry Operator at Village- Bhusanda, PS- Surada, Dist.- Ganjam. Both the accused have been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No.01 dated 10.02.2022 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
In one more Vigilance Operation today, Sri Kasinath Das, Clerk, Record Section, Collectorate, Cuttack has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.6,000/- (Rupees Six Thousand) from a complainant in order to provide him the land records as per his application.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 11.02.2022 wherein the accused Sri Kasinath Das, Clerk was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance near office of Record Section, District Record Room, Collectorate, Cuttack while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.6,000/- (Rupees Six Thousand) from complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Das and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash as well as pocket wash of Sri Das gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, search has been launched on the house of Sri Kasinath Das, Clerk at Bamphi Sahi, PO-Jhanjirmangala, PS- Purighat, Dist-Cuttack. He has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. Case No.12 dated 10.02.2022 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
DEPUTY MANAGER, SAMALESWARI MILK UNION LIMITED (SAMUL), DIST-SAMBALPUR ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE IN DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS (DA) CASE.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Kishore Kumar Naik, Deputy Manager, Samaleswari Milk Union Limited (SAMUL), Dist-Sambalpur, simultaneous house searches were conducted at 4 places in Sambalpur, Khordha and Puri district i.e;
- Residential double storeyed building at Bank Colony, Sakhipada, Dist-Sambalpur.
- Flat No.4/D in the MM Lilabati Complex at Kalarahanga, Bhubaneswar, Dist-Khordha.
- House at native village Alaura, PS-Delanga, Dist-Puri.
- Office chamber at office of Samaleswari Milk Union Limited (SAMUL), Dist-Sambalpur.
4 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 2 DSsP, 6 Inspectors, 3 ASIs and other staff conducted the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
During house searches so far, the following assets worth over 1.41 Crore have been unearthed;
- One double storeyed building at Bank Colony, Sakhipada, Dist-Sambalpur.
- One Flat No.4/D in the MM Lilabati Complex at Kalarahanga, Bhubaneswar, Dist-Khordha.
- 3 plots including 2 plots in Sambalpur town and 1 plot in Puri town.
- 2 two wheelers.
- Bank and other deposits worth over Rs.44.51 lakh.
- Insurance deposits worth over Rs.10.49 lakh.
- Gold ornaments worth over Rs.7.32 lakh.
- Household articles worth over Rs.5.6 lakh.
- Cash and other movable and immovable properties.
As Sri Kishore Kumar Naik, Deputy Manager, Samaleswari Milk Union Limited (SAMUL), Dist-Sambalpur was found in possession of disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. case No.3 dt.11.02.2022 has been registered against Sri Kishore Kumar Naik and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13 (1)(b)/12 PC Act-1988 as amended by Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act-2018. In course of investigation, today i.e. on 11.02.2022, Sri Kishore Kumar Naik, Deputy Manager has been arrested and forwarded to the Court of Spl. Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
FOREST RANGE OFFICER, K. NUAGAON FOREST RANGE, DIST-KANDHAMAL ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE IN DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS (DA) CASE.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Bairagi Charan Behera, Forest Range Officer, K. Nuagaon Forest Range, Dist-Kandhamal, simultaneous house searches were conducted at 7 places in Ganjam, Kandhamal and Boudh district i.e;
- Residential double storeyed building at Landeisahi, Bhanjanagar, Dist-Ganjam.
- Residential building at Butupali, Dist-Boudh.
- Government quarter at K. Nuagaon, Dist-Kandhamal.
- Poultry Farm at Dadaralunda, PS-Bhanjanagar, Dist-Ganjam.
- House of 2 relatives at Luduludi, PS-Gangapur, Dist-Ganjam.
- Office room at Forest Range Office, K. Nuagaon, Dist-Kandhamal.
7 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 4 DSsP, 7 Inspectors and other staff conducted the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani.
During house searches so far, the following assets worth approx 1.05 Crore have been unearthed;
- One double storeyed building at Landeisahi, Bhanjanagar, Dist-Ganjam.
- One single storeyed building at Butupali, Boudh town.
- Poultry Farm with asbestos roof at Dadaralunda, PS-Bhanjanagar, Dist-Ganjam.
- 4 plots including 2 plots under Ghumusar (Bhanjanagar) Tahasil, 1 plot in Ankuli, Berhampur and another plot in Boudh town.
- Bank and other deposits worth over Rs.8.5 lakh.
- Insurance deposits worth over Rs.9.42 lakh.
- Gold & silver ornaments worth over Rs.5.65 lakh.
- Household articles worth over Rs.5.83 lakh.
- 1 two wheeler, cash and other movable and immovable properties.
As Sri Bairagi Charan Behera, Forest Range Officer, K. Nuagaon Forest Range, Dist-Kandhamal was found in possession of disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. case No.02 dt.11.02.2022 has been registered against Sri Bairagi Charan Behera, Forest Range Officer and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13 (1)(b)/12 PC Act-1988 as amended by Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act-2018. In course of investigation, today i.e. on 11.02.2022, Sri Bairagi Charan Behera, Forest Range Officer has been arrested and forwarded to the Court of Spl. Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani.
