Cuttack,9/11/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Sri Gajendra Digal, Ex-RI, Baghiapada Circle under Boudh Tahasil, Dist-Boudh (now under suspension) was facing trial in the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani in Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No.54 dated 28.11.2017 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification of Rs.7,000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand) from a complainant for submission of enquiry report in his favour and help him get RoR for land over which complt. was in possession for last 30 years.
Today i.e. on 09.11.2021, the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Phulbani convicted Sri Digal, RI and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and to pay fine of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 6 months for the offence U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
Sri Pulasti Chatria, Inspector Vigilance, Berhampur Division had investigated the case and Sri V.V. Ramdas, Spl. P.P, Vigilance, Phulbani conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
