RS 89,290/- RECOVERED AND SEIZED FROM REGIONAL OFFICER, STATE POLLUTION CONTROL BOARD, BALASORE.

Cuttack,9/10/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- In one more Vigilance Operation today, on receipt of reliable information regarding collection of illegal gratification from different sources by Sri Narottam Behera, Regional Officer, State Pollution Control Board, Balasore, a team of Odisha Vigilance kept a close watch over the movement and activities of Sri Behera.

 Accordingly, today i.e. on 09.10.2021, the team of Odisha Vigilance intercepted him at Tangi check gate, Cuttack, while he was plying from Balasore to Bhubaneswar by hired Innova car bearing registration No.OD-02-C-9309. During interception, a sum of Rs.89,290/- (Rupees Eighty-nine Thousand Two Hundred Ninety) was recovered from Sri Behera, which he could not account for satisfactorily. The cash as well as Innova car have been seized.

Following interception, office room and residential Govt. quarter of Sri Narottam Behera, Regional Officer, State Pollution Control Board at Balasore and his rented house at Satyanagr, Bhubaneswar are being searched.

In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS case No.17 dt.09.10.2021 U/s 7(a)/13 (2) r/w 13(1) (b) Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against Sri Narottam Behera, Regional Officer, State Pollution Control Board, Balasore.

The investigation of the case is in progress.
