Cuttack,21/9/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )-On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Ranjan Kumar Dang, Senior Manager, office of Odisha Construction Corporation Ltd. (OCCL), Dist-Sambalpur, simultaneous house searches were conducted at 3 places in Sambalpur district on 20.09.2021 by 3 teams of Sambalpur Vigilance Division comprising 2 DSsP, 3 Inspectors and other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
1 triple storeyed building at Sambalpur town, 7 plots including 6 plots in Sambalpur district and 1 plot in Subarnapur district, 1 two wheeler, Bank deposits over Rs.16.93 Lakh, Insurance deposits over Rs.21.15 Lakh, cash of Rs.1,45,850/- and other movable and immovable properties, all totalling to over Rs 2.27 Crore were unearthed during the house search.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Ranjan Kumar Dang, Senior Manager were calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs. 1,63,58,849/- (Rupees One crore Sixty-three Lakh Fifty-eight Thousand Eight Hundred Forty-nine) which constitutes 166% of his known sources of income.
As Sri Ranjan Kumar Dang, Senior Manager, office of Odisha Construction Corporation Ltd. (OCCL), Dist-Sambalpur was found in possession of disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.31 dt.21.09.2021 was registered against Sri Ranjan Kumar Dang, Senior Manager and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act-2018. In course of investigation, today i.e. on 21.09.2021, Sri Ranjan Kumar Dang has been arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
