Cuttack, 14/12/2020 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo )- Today i.e. on 14.12.2020, Smt. Anita Tarai, R.I, Baradia Revenue Circle under Rajkanika Tahasil, Dist. Kendrapara has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from complainant Smt. Sabita Mallick of village Gualigaon, PS-Rajkanika, Dist. Kendrapara in order to furnish verification report in favour of the complainant to Tahasildar, Rajkanika.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 14.12.2020. Accused Smt. Anita Tarai, R.I was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division inside her office room while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from complainant Smt. Mallick. Accused Smt. Tarai directed the complainant to keep the bribe money on her office table. The bribe money was recovered and seized in presence of witnesses. Wash of the contacted portion of office table of Smt. Tarai gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance of bribe money by her. Her house at Nuagaon, PS-Aul, Dist. Kendrapara is being searched. She has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. case No.21 dt.13.12.2020 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
