Calls for strategic technical support, strengthenedmonitoring and focused interventions in priority sectors
Bhubaneswar, 08 July 2026( Odisha Samachar / Rajat Mohapatra)-A meeting to review the progress of Viksit Vision Odisha 2036 | 2047 was held today under the chairpersonship of Chief Secretary, Odisha, Smt. Anu Garg, IAS, in the 2nd Floor Conference Hall of Lok Seva Bhawan. The meeting was attended by the leadership team of ‘The Convergence Foundation (TCF)’ and its portfolio organizations namely Centre for Effective Governance of Indian States (CEGIS), Foundation for Economic Development (FED), Udaiti, Prosperiti, Rocket Learning, Central Square Foundation, GATI Foundation and Atithi.

The meeting reviewed the progress and proposed areas of collaboration under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Planning & Convergence Department, Government of Odisha, and The Convergence Foundation (TCF) on 13 February 2025. The three-year MoU aims to provide strategic support to the State Government in key areas for realizing the vision of a Viksit Odisha by 2036.
Mr. Praveen Khanghtha, COO, The Convergence Foundation, Mr. Parikshit Luthra, Director, Policy & Government Partnerships, TCFalong with representatives from portfolio organizations of TCF, participated in the meeting.

The TCF portfolio organizations are presently working with several departments of the State Government, including Industries, Labour& ESI, Women & Child Development, Housing & Urban Development, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, Health and Family Welfare, Tourism, MSME, Skill Development & Technical Education, Higher Education and School & Mass Education. Their areas of engagement include governance reforms, education, women’s empowerment, tourism, skilling, urban reforms, mental health, environment and economic development.
Chief Secretary Smt. Gargemphasized on the need for strategic technical support from TCF and its portfolio organizations in monitoring the implementation of targets and goals under Viksit Odisha Vision 2036 | 2047. She also highlighted the importance of focused interventions in identified priority sectors to ensure measurable outcomes and timely progress.
Commissioner-cum-Secretaries of Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, Higher Education, Skill Development & Technical Education, Sports & Youth Services and MSME Departments; Director, Municipal Administration; Director, Social Welfare; and Senior Officers from Planning & Convergence and other departments of Odisha were present in the meeting and participated in the discussion. Consultant, Office of the Chief Secretary Debendra Kumar Jena coordinated the proceedings of the meeting.
