‘Samjho Toh Adda–2’ Held at NSCB College, Sambalpur: A Step Towards Truth, Critical Thinking and Social Awareness

Sambalpur, February 8,2026 (Odisha Samachar):Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Government College, Sambalpur witnessed the successful organisation of Samjho Toh Adda–2, an interactive youth engagement programme aimed at promoting critical thinking, creativity and social consciousness among students. The workshop was jointly organised by Story-4-Change and Community: The Youth Collective, with participation from over 40 students.

The programme began with students presenting their assigned community tasks, reflecting various social issues through group discussions, creative expressions and real-life observations. The session was facilitated by Masud Alam as the Lead Facilitator, along with Co-Facilitator Rashmita Kalet, who encouraged and appreciated the participants for their active involvement.

The core theme of the session focused on Appreciative Inquiry, where students explored positive approaches to understanding social realities. Through an engaging fictional “Lemon Story,” participants learned how to observe situations objectively and overcome personal biases.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the Ball Activity, where a glass ball was used as a metaphor to explain the differences between objective, subjective, and normative truths. The facilitators also introduced the concept of the Crap-O-Meter to help young minds identify misinformation, rumours, and false narratives prevalent in society.

The programme concluded with the felicitation of more than 40 students for their enthusiasm, creativity and meaningful participation. Many students shared that the session helped them gain a fresh perspective on social issues and strengthened their ability to question and verify information.

Speaking on the occasion, Lead Facilitator Masud Alam said,
“In today’s digital age, it is essential for young people to develop the ability to distinguish facts from misinformation. Samjho Toh Adda is empowering students with the tools to think critically and responsibly.”

The event stood as more than just a discussion forum—it emerged as a platform for nurturing empathy, collaboration, and youth-driven social change.
