Bhubaneswar,25/7/2025 ( Odisha Samachar ) Today i.e. on 25.07.2025, Sri Sourav Tripathy, Junior Revenue Assistant (JRA), Special Certificate Section, O/o Sub-Collector, Bhubaneswar has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and taking undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand) from a complainant for processing the file in a Certificate Case pending since long. Despite several requests made by compliant, Sri Tripathy was demanding bribe Rs.30,000/- to initiate the file. Finding no other way, the complt reported the matter to Vigilance authorities.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 25.07.2025, wherein the accused Sri Sourav Tripathy, JRA was nabbed by the team of Odisha Vigilance for demanding and taking undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Tripathy and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash as well as pant pocket wash of Sri Tripathy gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential house of Sri Tripathy at Balakati, PS-Balianta, Khordha and his office room. Accused Sri Sourav Tripathy, Junior Revenue Assistant has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No.17 dated 24.07.2025 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
