Bhubaneswar, 30/06/2025( Odisha Samachar / Rajat Mohapatra )- Due to incessant rain in Jharkhand and in Mayurbhanj and Balasore districts of Odisha, water levels in Rivers Subarnarekha, Budhabalangaand Jalakaare on the rise.

1.1 The water level in River Subarnarekha is 11.56mts at Rajghatas against the danger level of 10.36 mts in Steady condition. Similarly, the water level in River Budhabalanga is 6.72 mts atNH-5, Govindpuras against the danger level of 8.13 mts in Falling Trend and in River Jalaka is 6.71mts at Mathani as against the danger levelof 6.50 mts in Falling Trend.

1.2 In this backdrop, peak flood is expected in River Subarnarekha at Rajghat water level is 10.36mts at 06.00 AM on 01.07.2025 in falling trend as per ERD, CWC, Bhubaneswar forecast.In River Budhabalanga at NH-5, Govindpur water level is in falling trendand in River Jalaka, Mathani Road Bridge water levelis in Falling Trend.

2. The State Flood Cell in the Department of Water Resources is functioning 24*7 and the situation is being closely monitored.

2.1 Collector, Balasore has been alerted to expedite evacuation and relief operation.

2.2 An Engineer-in- Chief and a Chief Engineer have been rushed to Balasore to monitor the situation at the ground level and support in management of the flood.
