Bhubaneswar.27/02/2025 (Odisha Samachar)- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Khordha in collaboration with ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswar and Directorate of Agriculture and Food Production, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Govt. of Odishajointly organised the live streaming of PM-KISANSamman Nidhi programme on 24 February, 2025 at Kausalyaganga Campus.
Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the 19thinstalment of the PM-KISAN scheme at Bhagalpur, Bihar in which more than 9.8 Cr. farmers received the benefits amounting Rs. 22,000crores. Dr. P.K Sahoo, Director, ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture, Bhubaneswarwas the Chief Guest of the programme briefed about the PM-KISAN Scheme to the farmers and farmwomen present on the event.
He emphasized the significance of the installment, in supporting small and marginal farmers, encouraging them to utilize the funds effectively to enhance agricultural production.Shri P.C. Beura, ADM, Khordha stressed upon the role of agriculture towards the food security of our country.
Sri R.N. Senapati, Chief District Agricultural Officer, Khordha mentioned about the beneficial schemes operated by central and state government for the farming community. Shri N. Mund District Fisheries Officer, Khordha highlighted the role of fisheries and aquaculture in increasing and diversifying farm income.
Earlier Dr. HarapriyaNayak, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK-Khordha, ICAR-CIFA welcome the guests on the occasion. Five Progressive farmers/farmwomen were felicitated for their significant contribution in agriculture and allied sector. An Exhibition was organised on this occasion and around 243 farmers and farmwomen, staff of ICAR-CIFA, KVK,Khordha and officials from state Govt. of Odisha attended the live streaming programme on PM-KISAN SammanNidhi. Dr, P.R. Sahoo, SMS, KVK, Khordha proposed the vote of thanks.
