Hindalco to play a key role in Odisha’s industrial development

Odisha Government to provide all assistance ‐ Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan

Emphasis on employment of local people 

 

Bhubaneswar ,24/7/2024 (Odisha Samachar/Rajat Mohapatra)-Hindalco Industries Ltd, the metal flagship company of Aditya Birla Group is all set to play a key role in the industrial development of Odisha.

During a meeting with Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Shri KV Singhdeo at his Assembly office on Wednesday, President, Hindalco, Odisha Mr. Ardhendu Mohapatra informed that investment of over Rs. 25,000 crore is planned by the company in various upcoming and expansion projects within the state. Hindalco is setting up a 2 MTPA alumina refinery in the name of Aditya Alumina Refinery at Kanshariguda, Rayagada district with an investment of Rs. 8000 crore. A 1000 MW floating solar power project is planned at Hirakud with an investment of Rs. 6000 crore and the company is spending about Rs. 7000 crore for the expansion of its Aditya Aluminium Smelter plant at Lapanga in Sambalpur district. Apart from strengthening the economy of the region, the new projects will generate massive local employment.

The Hindalco President further apprised Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister that at present, Hindalco has already invested over Rs. 33,000 crore in various operational industrial units within the State of Odisha and has provided direct and indirect employment to over 21000 people.

Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister assured all possible support from the Government and stressed on employment of local people in all the existing as well as upcoming projects.
