Bhubaneswar, 6/12/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )-Agricultural Education Day was celebrated by ICAR-Central Institute for Women in Agriculture, Bhubaneswar on 3rd December 2022 by involving school students at Government Nodal High School, CRP, Baramunda, Bhubaneswar.
The celebration was organized to commemorate the birth Anniversary of DrRajendra Prasad, the first President of independent India. DrSabita Mishra, Director (I/c), ICAR-CIWA was the Chief Guest of the programme and SmtKalpanaMuduli, Headmistress,Government Nodal High School, CRP, Baramunda, Bhubaneswar was the Guest of Honour. DrTanuja S, Senior Scientist & Nodal Officer of the programme welcomed the guests, other dignitaries, staff and students to the function. DrSabita Mishra, Director (I/c), ICAR-CIWA highlighted the importance of the day and the contribution of DrRajendra Prasad to the Agricultural education system of India. She also stressed upon the importance of agriculture to the economy of the nation and need for promoting agricultural education among students as well as farmers for agricultural prosperity of the country. During the programme an awareness talk on the importance of nutrigarden in tackling malnutrition was delivered by DrJyotiNayak, Principal Scientist. ICAR-CIWA. She urged the students to abstain from intake of junk food and stressed upon the importance of balanced diet in maintaining a healthy life. 
DrTanuja S, Senior Scientist delivered a talk on the health benefits from consumption of fish. Leaflets on the nutritional importance of green leafy vegetables, milk, egg and fish were distributed among the students. SmtKalpanaMuduli, Headmistress,Government Nodal High School, CRP, Baramunda, Bhubaneswar was presented with vegetable seed kits by Director (I/c), ICAR-CIWA to initiate the establishment of nutrigarden in the school premises. About 150 students participated in the programme. The programme was co-ordinated by DrTanuja S, Senior Scientist and ShriAtul.C. Hemrom, Senior Technical Assistant, ICAR-CIWA.
