UNEARTHED IN HOUSE SEARCH OF EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, MINOR IRRIGATION DIVISION, BALASORE, DIST-BALASORE.

Cuttack,14/10/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, simultaneous house searches have been launched on the properties of Sri Mahesh Prasad Patnaik, Executive Engineer, Minor Irrigation Division, Balasore, Dist-Balasore today i.e. on 14.10.2022 at 7 places in Khurdha, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Rayagada districts & Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh i.e;

• Paternal house located at Kasturi Nagar, 1st lane, Rayagada, District- Rayagada.
• Flat No-211, Block- B, Hill View Residency located at Chinnagadili, Visakhapatnam.
• Flat number B-6, 1/ 11, located at Hitech Plaza, Madhipur, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar, District- Khurdha.
• Residential Government Quarter No.-4RB-1 located at LIC Colony, Murgabadi, Baripada, Dist-Mayurbhanj.
• Flat No.301, Surendra Enclave, Madhusudan Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
• House of his relative at Jagannath Complex, Madhusudan Nagar, Bhubaneswar.
• Office Room located at the office of Executive Engineer, Minor Irrigation Division, Balasore, District-Balasore.

7 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 3 DSPs, 12 Inspectors, 2 Sub-Inspectors, 5 ASIs and other staff conducted the search on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.

During house searches so far, the following movable and immovable assets worth Crores have been unearthed in the name of Sri Mahesh Prasad Patnaik, Executive Engineer and his family members;

• Two Flats vide No.503 & 504 (converted into one 4 BHK Flat) at Atala, Balianta, Bhubaneswar worth Rs.61.5 Lakhs.
• One 3 BHK Flat No.602, A-2 Block at Panchamukhi Greens at Atala, Balianta, Bhubaneswar worth over Rs.34.18 Lakhs.
• One Flat vide No.211, Block-B at Hill View Residency, Chinnagadili, Vishakhapatnam worth over Rs.17.56 Lakhs.
• One Flat vide No.B6-1/11, Hi-Tech Plaza, Sundarpada, Bhubaneswar worth Rs.13.23 Lakhs.
• One building at native village Kasturi Nagar, 1st lane, Rayagada, District- Rayagada worth Rs.4.85 Lakhs.

Vigilance Technical Wing is carrying out detailed measurement of above buildings and valuation may increase further.

• 6 plots including 3 plots in prime area of Bhubaneswar and 3 plots in Koraput. The Registered Sale Deed (RSD) value comes to Rs.20.86 Lakhs. However, the actual value is likely to be much higher. Undervaluation of the plots during registration is suspected. A thorough probe has been initiated in this regard.
• Bank & Insurance deposits worth over Rs.1.19 Crore.
• Cash Rs.2,53,400/-.
• Gold jewelry weighing approx 825 gm. worth over Rs.20.79 Lakhs.
• Silver ornaments weighing 6 Kg. worth Rs.1.5 Lakh.
• 4 two wheelers worth over Rs.2.41 Lakhs.
• Household articles worth over Rs.12.15 Lakhs.

 

Sri Mahesh Prasad Patnaik, Executive Engineer, Minor Irrigation Division, Balasore, Dist-Balasore is being examined to ascertain source of the assets. Further searches are continuing. Unearthing of more assets is likely and overall valuation is likely to increase.
