Cuttack,15/9/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )-Today i.e. on 15.09.2022, Sri Himansu Kumar Jena, Ex-ARI (Retired), Patnagarh & in-charge RI, Ghasien And Larambha under Patnagarh Tahasil, Dist-Bolangir who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.10 dtd.26.02.2017 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification (bribe) from the complainant to submit the enquiry report in a mutation case to Tahasildar, Patnagarh for issue of RoR (Patta) in favour of his mother was convicted by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and to pay fine of Rs.5,000/-(Rupees Five Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 month for the offence U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The Hon’ble Court further sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and to pay fine of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 month for the offence U/s 13 (2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988. Both the sentences are to run concurrently. Further, competent Authority will be moved by Odisha Vigilance for stoppage of pension of Sri Jena following his conviction.
Sri Abhiram Kar, Ex-DSP, Vigilance Sambalpur Division had investigated the case and Sri J.K. Sahu, Spl. P.P, Vigilance, Bolangir conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
