SAW MILL ACCESSORIES ALONG WITH VALUABLE TIMBER WORTH OVER RS.29.29 LAKH SEIZED.
Cuttack,13/9/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 13.09.2022, on receipt of reliable information regarding running of two illegal saw mills at village Hirapur and Bilipada, PS-Balipatna, Dist-Khurdha, a joint forest raid was conducted by the Forest Wing of Odisha Vigilance. It was ascertained that the saw mills were running without any valid license. During the raid, saw mills’ appliances along with valuable timber worth approx Rs.20,00,000/-(Rupees Twenty Lakh) were detected and seized.
In another operation today, on receipt of reliable information regarding running of two illegal saw mills at village Kalama and Mahuduma, PS-Raibania, Dist-Balasore, a joint forest raid was conducted by the Forest Wing of Odisha Vigilance. It was ascertained that the saw mills were running without any valid license. During the raid, saw mills’ accessories along with valuable timber of 82.9 Cft. worth Rs.9,29,200/-(Rupees Nine Lakh Twenty-nine Thousand Two Hundred) were detected and seized.
In total, seized produce comes to Rs.29,29,200/- (Rupees Twenty-nine Lakh Twenty-nine Thousand Two Hundred).
In this connection, two forest cases vide OR case No.08 & 09 of 2022-23 in Balipatna Forest Range under Khurdha Forest Division for violation of Section-4 of The Orissa Saw Mill & Saw Pit Control Act, 1991 and four Forest cases vide OR case No.34JL & 35JL and UD case No. 11JL & 12JL of 2022-23 in Jaleswar Wild Life Range under Balasore Wild Life Division for violation of Section-4 of The Orissa Saw Mill & Saw Pit Control Act, 1991 have been registered respectively and are under investigation.
