Cuttack,24/8/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )-Today i.e. on 24.08.2022, Sri M. Dibyajyoti, Junior Assistant, Community Health Centre (CHC), Th.Rampur, Dist-Kalahandi has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.9,000/- (Rupees Nine Thousand) from a complainant (BPL villager) who had lost his bread earning father, in order to process the file for issuance of death certificate of his late father, and that of 05 other deceased persons of his village. The complainant and 5 other BPL villagers had recently applied for Death Certificates of deceased family members at the CHC. For this, Sri Dibyajyoti demanded Rs 18,000/- as bribe @ Rs 3000/- per certificate to be paid in 2 installments. The complainant approached the Vigilance authority, following which a trap was laid and accused Sri M. Dibyajyoti, Junior Asst. was nabbed by the team of Odisha Vigilance in his office chamber while taking 50% of the bribe amount from the complainant today as 1st installment.
The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri M. Dibyajyoti and seized in presence of witnesses. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the Govt. residential quarter of Sri M. Dibyajyoti at Th.Rampur, Dist-Kalahandi and house at native village Mahendrapur, PS-Dhenkanal Sadar, Dist-Dhenkanal. Accused Sri M. Dibyajyoti, Junior Asst. has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S. Case No.28 dated 23.08.2022 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
