Cuttack,13/7/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )-Today i.e. on 13.07.2022, Smt. Sanghamitra Sahoo, Junior Engineer, Begunia Block, Dist-Khurdha has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from a complainant (Contractor) for facilitating release of his bills.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 13.07.2022 wherein the accused Smt. Sanghamitra Sahoo, JE was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in her office room while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/-(Rupees Five Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Smt. Sahoo and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Smt. Sahoo gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by her. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential house of Smt. Sahoo at MIG-1, Kalinga Vihar, Bhubaneswar and her office room. Accused Smt. Sanghamitra Sahoo, JE has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No.19 dated 12.07.2022 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
