HARD cash rupees over 1.5 lakh also recovered and seized.
Cuttack, 1/2/2022( Odisha Samachar )- Today, i.e. on 01.02.2022, Sri Jagannath Behera, Assistant Manager, TPNODL, Bangiriposhi Section, Dist-Mayurbhanj has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from a complainant (contractor) for issuance of work completion certificate in connection with supply of electricity to market complex at Laxmiposhi, Dist-Mayurbhanj.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 01.02.2022 wherein the accused Sri Jagannath Behera, Assistant Manager was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in front of Radha Krishna temple, Bangiriposhi while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from the complainant. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Behera and seized in presence of witnesses. At the same time, another hard cash rupees 1.5 lakh was also recovered and seized from the possession of Sri Behera at the spot which is being verified by the Vigilance Officers. Right hand wash of Sri Behera gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the rented residential house of Sri Behera at Bangiriposhi and his house at native village Baripada.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.2 dated 01.02.2022 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation
