Cuttack,9/10/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- On receipt of reliable information regarding collection of huge cash by Sri Bidhan Chandra Sahu, Superintending Engineer, Irrigation Baitarini Division, Salapada, Dist-Keonjhar as illegal gratification from different sources, a team of Odisha Vigilance kept a close watch over the movement and activities of Sri Sahu.
Accordingly, today i.e. on 09.10.2021, the team of Odisha Vigilance intercepted him at N.C. College Road in front of Covid Hospital, Jajpur town, while he was plying from Salapada to Cuttack by office Bolero vehicle. During interception, a sum of Rs.10,07,620/- (Rupees Ten Lakh Seven Thousand Six Hundred Twenty) was recovered from Sri Sahu, which he could not account for satisfactorily. The cash as well as Bolero vehicle have been seized.
Following interception, office room at Salapada, Keonjhar and residential house at Mahatab Road, Cuttack of Sri Bidhan Chandra Sahu, Superintending Engineer, Irrigation Baitarini Division, Salapada, Dist-Keonjhar are being searched.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS case No.16 dt.09.10.2021 U/s 7(a)/13 (2) r/w 13(1) (b) Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against Sri Bidhan Chandra Sahu, Superintending Engineer, Irrigation Baitarini Division, Salapada, Dist-Keonjhar.
The investigation of the case is in progress.
