Cuttack,6/8/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )-Today i.e. on 06.08.2021, Sri Surendra Sahu, Additional Programme Officer (APO), Naktideul Block, Dist-Sambalpur has been apprehended by the officers of Vigilance, Samablpur Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.4,000/- (Rupees Four Thousand) from a complainant relating to a canal work.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 06.08.2021 wherein the accused Sri Surendra Sahu, APO was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.4,000/- (Rupees Four Thousand) from the complainant. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Sahu and seized in presence of witnesses. Left hand wash of Sri Sahu as well as wash of his pant pocket gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential Govt. quarter of Sri Sahu at Block Colony, Naktideul, Dist-Sambalpur. Sri Surendra Sahu, APO has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court. In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.19 dated 05.08.2021 U/s 7 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
