Cuttack,5/2/2021( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 5.2.2021, Sri Sadhu Chatamba, Senior Clerk, office of Sub-Collector, Pallahara, Dist. Angul has been caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) from complainant Sri Ghasirama Behera of village Patrapada, PS-Chhendipada, Dist. Angul for processing the file to accord permission in favour of the complainant for sale of SC & ST land.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 5.2.2021. Accused Sri Sadhu Chatamba, Senior Clerk was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Cuttack Division in his office room while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) from complainant Sri Behera. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Chatamba and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Chatamba as well as his shirt pocket wash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. His house at native village Laxmipriyapur, PS-Pallahara, Dist. Angul and office room at Pallahara are being searched. He has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. case No.2 dt.4.2.2021 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
