Cuttack,23/01/2021( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 28.1.2021, Miss Mamata Hembram, Block Veterinary officer (BVO), Bhapur and Sri Ananta Paikaray, Attendant, office of Bhapur Veterinary Centre, Dist. Nayagarh have been caught by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) from complainant Sri Prahallad Charan Nayak of village-Madhapur, PS-Fategarh, Dist. Nayagarh in order to process the file for release of subsidy amount for goat farm in favour of the complainant.
Accordingly, a trap was laid on 28.1.2021. Accused Sri Ananta Paikaray, Attendant was caught red-handed by the officers of Vigilance, Bhubaneswar Division while accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) from complainant Sri Nayak as per previous demand and direction of accused Miss Mamata Hembram, BVO. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Paikray and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Paikray gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Government residential quarter of Miss Mamata Hembram, BVO at Bhapur, Dist. Nayagarh is being searched. Miss Mamata Hembram, BVO and Sri Ananta Paikray, Attendant have been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. case No.5 dt.27.1.2021 U/s 7/12 PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
